Background Image for Body tag.

I am trying to set a background image for the template as I wish to turn off the styles and create a background image of my own, I have tried to use:

But this doesn't work, is there anyway to set a background image for the template?

Many thanks

    Thanks pete.

You can change the background to an image of your own, however you will need to change the background in a couple of places. I will describe the process below. Before you begin, its best to make a backup/copy of an existing theme rather than working directly on the theme. See this wiki page on how themes work:

If you are working on a core theme (e.g. bayoux) then open up the template.css file under tr_clarion/core/themes/bayoux/template.css

If you are working on a custom/copied theme, then open up tr_clarion/local/themes/yourthemename/templates.css

2] In the css file there are a number of places you should delete or set to transparent. I have highlighted the first few in this screenshot.

3] You will need to either set all background references to transparent or delete them for your own background to show through. The very first tag body#bd{} should contain your background image.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Pete,

What template are you using and what version (if applicable) joomla is this for?

Also, is the site in question online or are you working offline?

I am using Clarion, and am using the version of Joomla in the Quick Start 1.5.23.

I have tried setting everything to have a transparent background (background-color: transparent;) in the template.css in the css folder directly under the template folder so tr_clarion\css

but this doesn't seem to work.

    Hi Pete,

Did you manage to set your own background? Let me know if you still need assistance with this.
